Singer says Jagger cited in divorce

“Miss Marianne Faithfull, 22-year-old actress friend of Mick Jagger, replied ‘That’s true,’ when asked yesterday if she had filed a petition for divorce against her 25-year-old husband, Mr John Dunbar.

“She made the same reply when asked whether, in his answer to this petition, Mr Dunbar had cited Mick Jagger. Asked if she wished to marry Jagger eventually, she said, ‘No’.”

Faithfull and Jagger did not marry but had a famous and tempestuous love affair in the late-1960s and early70s. Faithfull, who would at times become homeless and addicted to heroin, helped write one of The Rolling Stones’ greatest hits, Sister Morphine, in 1971.
