Vincent Van Gogh’s painting Le Pont de Trinquetaille sells at auction in London for a whopping $20.4 million.

The Dutch artist, perhaps best known for his work The Starry Night and for inspiring the Don Mclean song Starry Starry Night, created about 2,100 artworks, including around 860 oil paintings most of which date from the last two years of his life. He was not successful, and his suicide at 37 came after years of depression and poverty.
