Boyce double in Jambo goal spree

Liam Boyce scored twice as COVID-HIT Hearts kick started their pre-season preparatio­ns with a 6-0 win over Linlithgow Rose. Finlay Pollock struck first before Boyce hit a brace, with Michael Smith, Armand Gnanduille­t and Mackenzie Kirk all on target for the Jambos.

Charlie Adam stole the show to help Dundee win 3-0 away at Forfar in their first pre-season outing. The Scottish Championsh­ip player of the year assisted all three second half goals as Danny Mullen, Paul Mcmullan and Luke Mccowan all found the back of the net.

David Hopkirk struck three minutes from time as Dumbarton beat Premiershi­p side Motherwell 1-0. The former Hamilton striker fired in from close range after good work by Conor Duthie down the left.

Partick Thistle twice came from behind to edge out newly-promoted League Two side Kelty Hearts 3-2 at Central Park. The home side went ahead through Michael Tidser, before Kyle Turner levelled for the Jags. Nathan Austin restored Hearts’ lead but goals from Shea Gordon and Brian Graham saw Ian Mccall’s men run out eventual winners.

Ricky Little’s second half leveller cancelled out Martin Rennie’s earlier opener as Arbroath and Montrose drew 1-1 in the Angus derby at Links Park

Annan Athletic came from 2-0 down to beat rivals Queen of the South 3-2 at

Palmerston. Ally Roy put Queens ahead before a trialist doubled their lead, with Aidan Smith, Iain Anderson and a trialist on target for the Galabankie­s.

Dunfermlin­e were held to a 2-2 draw by Civil Service Strollers. Kevin O’hara put the Pars ahead but Lewis Duffy equalised before half time. Nikolay Todorov looked to have won it but Euan Valentine’s 87th minute leveller grabbed a draw.

Raith Rovers came from behind to

beat Stranraer 4-1 at Starks Park. Craig Ross opened the scoring for the visitors but second half goals from Aidan Connolly, Lewis Vaughan, Brad Spencer and Kieran Mitchell saw the Championsh­ip side ease to a win.

Lowland League side Gala Fairydean Rovers beat League Two Edinburgh City 3-1 at Netherdale and Ross Forbes scored a spectacula­r 30-yard free kick as Stenhousem­uir beat Benburb 2-1.
