Kim’s ace won’t peak too soon

- By Reg Moore sport@sundaypost.com

Ambassador has got into the habit of finding one too good. So perhaps Peak Too Soon has more scope to improve in Uttoxeter’s opener.

Ambassador has earned a BHB rating of 119, so Kim Bailey’s four-year-old will need to step forward from his Southwell win.

That was three weeks ago, winning readily from Awesomedude, where he must have made a noise as they’re attaching a tongue tie.

Ragamuffin has been in consistent form this season and, perhaps, he can eek out a little more progress, in a poor handicap hurdle.

The gelding has been second three times and a winner twice since last autumn, and has risen in the weights to a mark of 89.

Neil Mulholland’s runner was second to Easkey Lad last time out and the winner has won again at Ffos Las subsequently.

In division two of the same race Scotsbrook Night must have a big chance off 74, if he’s keen enough to produce maximum effort.

He was a winner off 85 three years ago and was clear when falling at the last next time. Will Kennedy is aboard, to make his mind up for him.
