Every four years, I start playing Games
£25 STAR LETTER
Every time the Olympics come round, I say I’m not interested in all the daft sports at the start and will just wait for the track and field to start. And every time I end up watching hours of coverage, becoming a total expert on sports I hadn’t even head of when I got up that morning.
Even for me, Tokyo has been a bit much. The dancing horses were par for the course but I watched everything else from surfing and skateboarding to three-a-side basketball which I didn’t even know was a thing. My husband says I’m the sportiest person he knows and if Going to the Kitchen to get a Biscuit ever becomes an Olympic sport, I should be going for gold. Sandra Jack, Edinburgh
Big fun in long grass
Further to your article about rewilding our parks and concerns that long grass will deter children.
Most families I know love meadows, love watching wildlife and looking for insects bugs etc. I am the mum of four young children. My four absolutely adore nature, including long grass. Play is all about exploring, hiding, looking for nature, identifying, laughing, smiling. We have created wildflower meadows at our house and at our holiday cottages. Just now we are doing the big butterfly count, for instance.
In the current environmental climate, wilding should be encouraged.

Harry’s short story
I laughed out loud when I heard Prince Harry had been “writing” his memoir for the past year. He’s quoted as saying: “I’m writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become.” That should fit on the back of a postage stamp and still leave room for the Lord’s Prayer.

The height of daring
What an amazing photograph of the cliff-diver in your centre-spread. Looking at it made me feel a little light-headed but I couldn’t stop. It’s just beyond my understanding how anyone could even think about doing such a thing. I get goosebumps just looking at the picture.
