SPARTANS got a 2-0 win over STIRLING UNI thanks to two second-half goals from Blair Henderson. They struck a minute after the turn when Henderson fired the ball home and, in the 63rd minute, he scored from close-in.

DALBEATTIE STAR continued their shock run with a 3-1 win over EDINBURGH UNI to make it five wins out of five and go five points clear at the top.

Russell Currie, the ex-annan

striker, grabbed two of the goals in a game which saw Star struggle to find the net after Currie headed in a Lewis Sloan free-kick on eight minutes. The Uni side fought back and Ben Spelman lobbed the Star keeper to level. Star missed several chances before Currie scored a great goal from 20 yards on 43 minutes. Uni fought hard in the second half, but, in the 75th minute, Scott Phillips headed in No. 3.

GALA FAIRYDEAN won the local derby match against BERWICK RANGERS 2-1. The Fairies went ahead two minutes before the interval with an Ross Aitchison goal, but Scott Taylor Mackenzie levelled the score eight minutes into the second half. Then, in the 57th minute, John Chalmers got the vital goal for the Fairies.

BONNYRIGG ROSE are back in form and thrashed GRETNA 2008 6-2 to move up to third spot. Robert Wilson put them ahead on

15 minutes and Lee Currie added a second on the halfhour. Then Kieran Mcgachie made it three in the 37th minute before Josh Cooper headed in for Gretna four minutes before the turn. Rose dominated the second half and Robert Wilson added No. 4 after 10 minutes, with Kieran Hall getting a brace. Jordan Kernoe scored for Gretna in between.

CIVIL SERVICE STROLLERS kept up their fine start to the season with a 1-0 win over

EAST KILBRIDE, who are struggling without a win in their first three starts. Kilby had a early goal chalked off and were dominating play, but their best chance came on 53 mints when a James Saunders header was stopped by a defender. Joao Balde got the only goal of the game in the 62nd minute when his shot was blocked by the keeper, but the striker hit the rebound into the net for the winner.

BO’NESS UNITED thumped struggling VALE OF LEITHEN 7-0 away from home thanks to hat-tricks from Zander Miller and Tom Grant. They were three up at the turn with Zander Miller getting the opener after nine minutes and Tom Grant adding a second four minutes later. Grant then got his second on the half-hour, with Stuart Hunter getting into the act on 57 minutes. Miller made it five in 63 minutes, with Grant completing his hat-trick with 15 minutes left.

Miller completed his hat-trick in stoppage-time.

CALEDONIAN BRAVES beat BROOMHILL 2-1 to make it three games unbeaten. They had to fight back after Broomhill took an early lead through Sean Slaven, but Jackmcdowa­ll equalised in the 28th minute and Jamie Walker hit the winner in the 54th minute.

half.
