CPR WITH NO GRAVITY?

-

Astronaut doctors are trained how to perform CPR upside down with the handstand method where their feet are pressed against the ceiling of the space craft and they do chest compressions on patients on the floor. The walls need to be between 6.5ft and 8.2ft apart for effective chest compressions.

Alternatively the medic can wrap their left leg over the right shoulder of the stricken person, and their right leg wraps around the person’s torso, allowing ankles to be crossed at the back to help muscular stability.

To date there bave been no known cardiac arrests in space.
