Police hunt attacker

Police have launched an appeal after a 45-yearold man suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital following an assault in Kirkcaldy in the early hours of yesterday.

Officers in Fife were called to a disturbance at a car park between Shetland Place and Orkney Place in the town shortly after 3am.

The man was taken to the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh for treatment.

Police have said while his injuries are serious they are not believed to be life-threatening.
