Capital arrests

Three men in their early 20s have been arrested and charged in connection with two alleged assaults and homophobic crime after an incident involving two men in Leith Street, Edinburgh, on July 30.

The men have been released and will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court at a later date. Police Scotland said: “Any form of hate crime has a huge impact on those targeted. An attack on people because of their sexual orientation, gender identity, race or beliefs, is abhorrent.”
