Forster saint and sinner as Kelty impress

-

STIRLING ALBION lost 3-1 at home to KELTY HEARTS. Kelty led on 38 minutes when Jordon Forster scored with a thumping header, then, soon after, Joe Cardle prodded No. 2 past keeper Blair Currie. On 56 minutes, Kallum Higginbotham smacked a perfectly struck 20-yard free-kick past the wall and into the corner. Stirling got one back midway through the second half when Forster headed a Nathan Flanagan free-kick into his own net.

FORFAR took the lead visiting EDINBURGH CITY when Matty Aitken stabbed home from six yards. Homester Mark Gallagher then hit a penalty off the foot of the post. City suffered a blow just after half-time when keeper Ryan Goodfellow suffered an ankle injury and limped off. In added time, Gallagher finished off a neat counter-attack to seal a 2-0 win.

COWDENBEATH came out on top 3-1 at home to ELGIN CITY. In 13 minutes, they took the lead. Liam Buchanan was hauled down by Daryl Mchardy in the Elgin box and he converted the spotkick. Robbie Buchanan was then fouled in the Elgin box and Liam Buchanan again made an expert job of the penalty award. Elgin pulled one back not long after when Daryl Mchardy made no mistake from seven yards out.

With eight minutes left, Liam Buchanan’s pass split the City rearguard and sub Luke Mahady ran through to slot the ball home.

ALBION ROVERS and STENHOUSEMUIR shared four goals and the points. Albion took the lead four minutes after the break when Scott Roberts forced the ball home. Thomas Orr drew Stenny level after 63 minutes with a left-foot shot from Nat Wedderburn’s clever pass. Thomson netted soon after when he headed in Darren Christie’s cross to give Stenhousemuir the lead, but Callum Wilson equalised with a n 18-yard left-foot shot.

ANNAN won 3-0 at STRANRAER and led on 13 minutes when Chris Johnston ran through to smash a low shot beyond Curtis Lyle. On 51 minutes, it was 2-0 as Aidan Smith ran through before stroking home. It was game-over on 72 minutes as Owen Moxon found time to turn in the box and then fired home via the underside of the crossbar.
