Beef shortage hikes prices

The Sunday Post reported on the cost of beef as UK prices soared.

“Beef Prices Likely To Stay High,” read the article. “Meat prices are likely to remain high, says the chairman of the Fatstock Marketing Corporation in the annual report published today,” it continued. Meat supplies were still an issue despite rationing ending 10 years previously. “The high prices were mainly due to the world shortage of beef.”
