Archers take aim at castle

-

An archery competition dating back more than 500 years, which sees participants shoot upwards at a wooden bird, wowed spectators at a Scottish castle yesterday.

The Ancient Society of Kilwinning Archers staged the event at Drummond Castle, near Crieff in Perthshire. The custom dates back to 1483 when archers were raised to fight for King James III.
