Is Firth Of Clyde set to turn the tide?

- By Reg Moore sport@sundaypost.com

Firth Of Clyde is starting to look a bit exposed but his presence in the Goodwood maiden has scared a few likely lads away.

Fourth to Reach For The Moon on debut, that winner went on to win the Group 3 Solario Stakes by four lengths.

Last time he was sent off joint-favourite for a 13-runner maiden at Newmarket, where he failed by just a neck.

Aggagio should be up to the seller after being switched from Jean-claude Rouget, in France, to Sophie Leech in June.

The three-year-old has been campaigned at one-and-a-quarter miles or less, and should enjoy a longer trip.

In a field of mainly disappointing types, the son of Born To Sea has at least won twice for Rouget, once by 12 lengths.

All-conquering Andrew Balding is trying first-time blinkers on the Queen’s Tactical, who has lost his way a bit.

If they work, Oisin Murphy might get back to the blistering speed he showed in a Newmarket listed-handicap in April.
