High five puts Buckie on easy street

-

FORMARTINE UNITED 1 BUCKIE THISTLE 5

Formartine looked to bounce back from midweek defeat to Brechin City and Scott Lisle fired them in front on the 12th minute.

Buckie responded with captain Kevin Fraser levelling then Kevin Macleod put the Jags in front.

Former Don Max Barry gave them a two-goal cushion two minutes before the break.

Mark Mclauchlin put Buckie on easy street just after the hour leaving sub Callum Murray to complete a nap hand in the final minute.

BRORA RANGERS 4 NAIRN COUNTY 0

The Cattachs have begun to click into gear and that was ominous news for a Nairn side that have failed to win since the opening week.

It took half an hour for the goals to come but, after Matthew Wright stroked home the opener, Jordan Macrae curled in a second and Gregor Macdonald made it three before the break.

The second half followed along similar lines with Brora dominating but taking half an hour to find the net, Dale Gillespie with a daisy cutter from the edge of the box.

Nairn keeper Will Counsell then saw red for using his hands outside his box to deny a goalscoring opportunity.

CLACHNACUDDIN 3 TURRIFF UNITED 2

After drawing a first-half blank, these sides served up a pulsating second half that very nearly resulted in Turriff racking up a second 3-3 draw in the space of three days.

Matt Macdonald put United ahead in the 48th minute but Clach responded through a familiar source with James Anderson not only equalizing but going on to put them in front.

The points appeared in the bank when sub Connor Bunce

turned home a third only for Macdonald to set up a grandstand finish with a well-taken penalty.

FORRES MECHANICS 1 LOSSIEMOUTH 0

It was a turgid first half at Mosset Park with little in the way of goalmouth action.

The teams traded efforts from Ryan Sewell and Jack Grant but neither looked like scoring.

The goal when it arrived was in keeping with the game as a whole. Allan Macphee delivered a ball in from the left that appeared too close to Lossie keeper Logan Ross, but when he spilled it Lee Fraser was on hand to knock it into the gaping net.

FRASERBURGH 3 INVERURIE LOCO WORKS 0

The Broch kept their place at the top of the table with a professional victory over Richard Hasting’s Inverurie Locos, who came into the game unbeaten.

Sean Butcher rattled home Ryan Sargent’s knock down in the 18th minute and he was involved in the second that arrived two minutes into the second half.

Butcher flicked on for Scott Barbour to run in and slot home.

Paul Campbell rounded off the scoring from the penalty spot after Greg Mitchell handled Butcher’s goalbound header.

HUNTLY 0 ROTHES 2

Rothes produced the classic Ross Jack performance to claim another 2-0 win without appearing to break sweat.

After a goalless first period, a foul on the edge of the box by Michael Clark was punished with an expertly taken free-kick by Allan Pollock.

Four minutes later Greg Morrison drilled a low shot in off the post.

The Speysiders managed the remainder of the match never giving Huntly a sniff of goal and as a result moved above them on goal difference.

STRATHSPEY THISTLE 0 KEITH 2

Having lost just one goal in three games, Keith would have gone in at half-time full of confidence after “Chamack” Nawrocki gave them the lead.

Charlie Brown tried to rally his troups at half time but Keith skipper Michael Selfridge sealed the points just after the hour mark as the visitors leapfrogged Strath into 11th.

WICK ACADEMY 2 DEVERONVALE 2

Wick collected their fifth draw in seven games.

David Allan put them ahead six minutes into the second half before Steven Anderson marked his return to the line-up with a second six minutes further on.

Innes Mackay gave the Banffers hope and Sean Mcintosh brilliantly saved a Mark Macadie effort to keep that alive.

Rory Davidson produced an impressive leveller before Jamie Tinnock saw red.
