Nine’s fine for Trump as he looks Stateside

-

Top potter Judd Trump is ready to crack America.

But, instead of playing his favoured snooker, the ambitious young gun is ready to chance his arm at nine-ball pool.

The sport is huge in the US, and Trump – snooker’s most-successful player over the past 24 months – is hungry to impressed with a prolonged break in the snooker calendar.

He had been due to play in the Turkish Masters this month, but that was postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic.

And that means Trump has an exciting opportunity he might otherwise not have had to try and impress at the US Open Pool Championship in Atlantic City (September 13-18).

“It’s a new challenge, and I can’t wait,” revealed Trump.

“I’ve not really practised for it, but we’ll see how it goes.”
