There are some huge shows already scheduled for 2022.

First up is Broadway and West End sensation The Book Of Mormon, a musical comedy from the creators of South Park, which has picked up nine Tony awards and four Olivier awards. It’s at the King’s in Glasgow from Jan 6-22 and later at Edinburgh Playhouse, from Sept 13-Oct 8.

The late Jim Steinman’s musical based on his songs for Meat Loaf, Bat Out Of Hell, is at Edinburgh Playhouse from Feb 8-19 and His Majesty’s, Aberdeen, from April 12-16. If you prefer pop to rock, Mamma Mia is always a bestseller, and its back at His Majesty’s in Aberdeen from Mar 15-26 and at the King’s in Glasgow from May 24-June 11. For lovers of Motown, Dreamgirls – inspired by The Supremes – comes directly from the West End to Edinburgh Playhouse, April 5-16, and the King’s, Glasgow, from Oct 10-22.

It’s a polarising show but there can be no doubting the popularity of Mrs Brown’s Boys. Their new live production, The Musical For Moore Street, is at the SSE Hydro, July 1-2 and Edinburgh Playhouse from July 15-17.
