-

Thousands packed Glasgow Green yesterday with Liam Gallagher headlining a bill that included Primal Scream and rapper KSI on the second day of TRNSMT festival.

Music fans at one of the first mass events since restrictions were lifted were required to provide evidence they had recently tested negative for Covid before entry. Today’s line-up includes Amy Macdonald, Snow Patrol and headliners the Chemical Brothers.

Another 10 Covid-linked deaths were recorded yesterday and the number of patients in hospital with the virus in Scotland hit its highest level since February.

The latest figures published by the Scottish Government showed 985 in hospital, a rise of more than 200 in a week, and 83 in intensive care.

There were 4,289 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours, although official estimates indicated one in 45 people in Scotland had Covid, the highest rate since the pandemic began.
