First Lady’s a working role model to all

-

Did you see the news that Jill Biden has become the first First Lady to work full-time while also holding down ceremonial duties for the White House? Since her husband, Joe, became president, the 70-yearold has continued to teach students virtually, but last week she stepped back into the classroom to hold lectures in person. How fantastic is that? It’s often said that teaching is a vocation, with so many educators holding a deep passion for their role, and helping kids find their way in life clearly lights Jill’s spark. I love the fact that she is also showing young women that you don’t need to lose your identity when your partner becomes successful – even if he is the leader of the free world. What’s more, most women take a step back in their 70s, so it’s even more inspiring to see her make the most of later life. That’s a lesson we can benefit from learning.

I read last week that new research suggests drinking non-alcoholic wine is just as beneficial for health as normal wine, debunking the idea that a moderate amount of alcohol can help ward off heart problems. Well, as long as my wine glass is half full, rather than half empty, I’m happy.
