Julie can Separate the field
Julie Camacho’s Separate can upset the Irish raider in the Class 3 Fillies handicap, the second event at Musselburgh.
The four-year-old has struggled with her handicap mark since winning for Richard Hannon at Newbury two years ago.
But last time at York, in a better heat, she finished a staying-on four-length seventh to Sweet Enough, over a furlong less.
Clay Regazzoni and Markazi were first and second at Musselburgh three weeks ago, and the figures suggest they could dead-heat.
Clay Regazzoni prevailed by halfa-length then, and Markazi is a pound better off in the mile, Class 5 handicap today.
Last time, Markazi looked to have the race won, but faded in the last 100 yards.
Today’s shorter journey should be ideal.
De Mazzaro has been a revelation this season, with three wins from six runs since joining Tristan Davidson in Irthington, Cumbria.
He started the campaign on a mark of 45, and the handicapper hasn’t been too severe, given that he’s off 53 today.
