Four clear as Kelty keep up unbeaten run

-

KELTY HEARTS beat visitors ANNAN ATHLETIC 2-1 to stay four points clear at the top and are still unbeaten in nine games.

The breakthrough for Kelty came in the 37th minute when Jamie Barjonas hit a great shot from 20 yards into the corner of the net.

Annan levelled just before the interval when Tony Wallace hit a

12-yarder past the helpless home keeper Darren Jamieson.

The home side piled on the pressure and, on 74 minutes, they got the break when Kallum

Higginbotham’s shot went in off the upright to make it 2-1.

STIRLING ALBION returned from ELGIN with a 2-0 victory to keep the pressure on League leaders Kelty.

In first-half stoppage-time, the Binos went in front when Martin Mcniff met Nathan Flanagan’s corner with a towering header past Tom Mchale.

The hosts brought on new loan signing from Falkirk, Jaime Wilson, at the break and the striker was straight in the action, firing a low drive just past within 20 seconds.

With four minutes left, sub Dale Carrick converted Flanagan’s through ball to seal the victory.

STENHOUSEMUIR captain Sean Crighton scored a crucial goal in stoppage time against FORFAR to secure a point for the Warriors and lift them off the bottom of the table on goal difference.

Forfar went ahead in the fifth minute, though there was a touch of good fortune as Craig Thomson’s shot took a deflection and looped over the home keeper.

In the second half, however, it was Stenny who had the bulk of the play, with Euan O’reilly in particular looking dangerous.

Despite their best efforts, though, it appeared as if they wouldn’t be rewarded until

Crighton headed home an Adam Brown corner.

STRANRAER beat ALBION ROVERS 1-0, with Paul Woods’ first-half strike enough to give Stranraer a deserved three points at Stair Park.

The winner came when he raced through on goal, rounded Cammy Binnie and smashed home from a tight angle.
