What’s in bloom?
Tall and airy Verbena bonariensis is a useful plant for threading through borders to add height without obscuring the light to lower-growing plants. In cold areas it should be mulched in autumn to protect the roots from frost, but it also grows easily from cuttings, which can easily be over-wintered in a coldframe or greenhouse.
