Macius, 24, represents environmental charities in the island nation but he has been unable to get a visa to travel because the application centre is in neighbouring Dominican Republic. He said: “As a young climate activist in Haiti, Cop26 would be an essential event for me to make my voice heard. I come from Haiti, a country badly affected by the crisis. I experience the harmful effects of climate change on a daily basis.”
