Genuflex can atone near miss

- By Reg Moore sport@sundaypost.com

Milton Harris has been firing in winners all over the country, and Genuflex may well be another one at Sedgefield today.

The three-year-old contests the juvenile hurdle, having just missed out at Ludlow, when going down by a length-and-a-half to Mister Allegro.

An untidy leap at the third-last gave him more to do than was comfortable, and he ran out of track on the run-in.

In the maiden hurdle, Salsada is not being highly-tried, considering his fine form from the flat earning him a rating of 92.

The Mukhadram filly rattled up a hat-trick on the level, and trainer, Brian Ellison, is sure to have her well-schooled for the debut.

Storm Lorenzo boasts the best piece of form in the two-miler and his trainer, Rebecca Menzies, could hardly be in better form.

The Durham National is a big feature of Sedgefield’s season, and this year the prize for their three-mile, five-furlong slog may go to Wales.

Peter Bowen runs the seven-year-old Montanna, who has been progressive over staying trips, and has course-winning form at two furlongs less.
