TRANENT got the better of NEWTONGRAN­GE in the Challenge Cup, but only just, scoring a winner with two minutes to go. Shaun Rutherford gave Tranent a first-half lead, but Ryan Porteous levelled on the hour mark and, in a nail-biting finish, Matty Knox snatched a winner for the visitors.

HADDINGTON came out on top against LEITH ATHLETIC, with both sides finishing with 10 men. Gabri Auriemma gave the Hi Hi the lead and Guy Mcgarry added a quickfire double before Cameron Stewart pulled one back. However, Auriemma cracked in a fourth for the home side in the final minute.

LINLITHGOW are also through after a 2-1 victory over visiting CAMELON. Jack Ogilvie netted the opener for Rose in 15 minutes and, five minutes later, Alan Sneddon doubled their lead. The Mariners pulled one back, but Rose held out for a deserved win.

LUNCARTY travelled to GLASGOW UNIVERSITY and came away with a 2-0 win thanks to a Chris Anton first-half penalty and a second-half strike from Scott Sutherland.

DUNDONALD BLUEBELL won the bragging rights in the Fife derby against CROSSGATES, with James Mackie’s secondhalf strike proving to be the Bluebells winner.

PENICUIK cruised to a 7-0 victory over EDINBURGH COLLEGE, with Nicky Reid bagging four of the goals. Lumbert Kataleza, Robbie Neave and Reece Hope were the other Cuikie scorers.
