Joanne Froggatt stars in the disturbing drama showing what happens behind the closed doors of a household run by a domestic abuser.

Angela (Froggatt) is rocked by Ed’s claims, which seem to confirm her worst suspicions about her husband Olivier (Michiel Huisman), and she struggles to maintain a normal appearance, while at the same time wondering whether she should join forces with Ed and take action. Samuel Adewunmi also stars.

The Trick BBC1, today, 8.30pm

This one-off drama, written by Bafta-nominated Owen Sheers, looks back at the events of 2009, when Professor Philip Jones, director of climate research at the University of East Anglia, ended up at the centre of a media maelstrom.

Dubbed Climategate, it blew up after thousands of documents were stolen from the University’s Climatic Research Unit and leaked online.

The data was pounced on by climate change deniers, who used it to question climate science, as well as sabotage an important UN summit.the story charts how public confidence in science was undermined.
