The Big Yin loves Boyle

Sir Billy Connolly has told how he loves fellow Scots funnyman Frankie Boyle and hailed him as “immense”.

Connolly, 78, highlighted Boyle among his favourite comedians, also including the late comedy icons Chic Murray and Max Wall.

He said fellow Glaswegian comic and TV presenter Boyle, 49, had the same “bravery” on stage as Greenock-born Murray and Wall, who was the son of music-hall entertainer Jock Lorimer, who hailed from Forfar in Angus.
