Lumley: I broke down
Joanna Lumley has revealed she once had a nervous breakdown, when she was a single mother in her 20s, raising her only son Jamie, who was then four.
“It was burnout,” the 75-year-old Absolutely Fabulous star said.
“I think it must be like deserting soldiers, who suddenly turn their backs and walk away from the battlefield.
“They were labelled cowards, and I wonder if they didn’t just burn out, if something in their minds didn’t just burn out.”
