Garden of the week
Glasgow Botanic Garden, on the city’s Great Western Road, is always an enticing spot to spend some time, even on a wet and windy day.
Spread across the Kibble Palace and the main range of glasshouses are important collections of orchids, ferns, begonias and carnivorous plants while outside the arboretum is at its best in autumn. The Children’s Orchard is filled with fruit trees and willow dens.
