Sometimes life is just “right”. Julia’s 85-year-old neighbour, Jim, has two apple trees in his garden.

Their branches reach into her garden. They drop a lot of leaves, and they also drop a good part of their crop on her lawn each year. The first year she lived there, Jim apologised and offered to have the branches cut back, but she had a better idea.

Not being much of a baker, she borrowed some recipes from her mum. Now, the trees continue to do their annual thing, and her children collect the apples from both sides of the fence.

The family get fresh fruit, and Jim gets enough frozen apple-pies and crumbles to keep him supplied with puddings for the winter.

Nature does provide, and loving your neighbour is still the best way to go.

And when those things fall into place, well...the world just seems right, doesn’t it?
