Gethins enjoys a four-goal away day haul

Mid-table Nairn gave themselves aboostwith­a6-0thrashing­of lowly Turriff.

Conor Gethins supplied the finish for the opener in 42 minutes after the creative work was done by Sam Gordon on the right. Seamus Mcconaghy added the second. The points were secured just after the hour, with Gethins getting his second with a six-yard volley.

He added two more with a header, then a cheeky lob, before Angus Dey added a sixth late on from close range.

BUCKIE THISTLE 4 CLACHNACUD­DIN 1

Clachnacud­din took a surprise lead in the sixth minute with Robbie Thompson shocking the home support.

Buckie pulled themselves level through Kyle Macleod 15 minutes later, but it remained all square at the break.

Three goals in eight minutes gave the Jags all three points with Invernessi­an Sam Urquhart putting one over his local team by netting a brace. He had them in front for the first time in the game in the 71st minute, then sub Scott Adams made it 3-1. The fourth came from the penalty spot, Urquhart converting.

KEITH 1 BRORA 7

Brora opened the scoring when Dale Gillespie corner found the head of Colin Williamson.

Max Ewen cross played in Jordan Macrae to double their lead, then Keith pulled a goal back through a Przemyslaw Nawrocki header.

The Cattachs stepped up a gear in the second half and Dale Gillespie made it three, then

Gregor Macdonald squared in from the right to Matthew Wright for the fourth. Another Wright

effort rebounded off the post for Jordan Macrae to shoot in.

Tom Kelly cut back at the byeline to Wright for his second, then the same player claimed the match ball with a right-foot

finish.

INVERURIE LOCOS 5 STRATHSPEY THISTLE 1

Inverurie Locos got off to the perfect start in only two minutes as Robert Ward poked home.

It was 2-0 in 18 minutes with Nathan Meres racing to the line and providing a well-weighted cross for Kieran Shanks to head into the net.

Kris Duncan reduced the leeway after some great build-up play.

On half-time, Shanks got his second, then sub Ross Still added a fourth with a powerful header in 76 minutes. Five minutes later, the scoring was completed by Sam Burnett.

HUNTLY 3 WICK ACAD 4

A seven-goal thriller began with Jack Halliday’s 20-yard drive giving Wick Academy a sixthminut­e lead.

Halliday’s penalty doubled the advantage, but Logan Johnstone tapped home a Michael Clark knockdown to pull one back.

Michael Dangana chipped Huntly level a minute into the second half and they were ahead when Clark netted.

Joe Anderson squared things up after a goalmouth stramash, then an 85th-minute penalty from player-manager Gary Manson won it for the Scorries.

FORRES MECHANICS 0 FRASERBURG­H 7

Paul Young scored four as Forres suffered a second successive 7-0 loss. Scott Barbour opened the scoring from the penalty spot on five minutes.

Young got his first of the day from six yards on the 20th minute.

Sean Butcher’s close-range finish had the Broch three up at the break, and he set up Young for his second four minutes after the turnaround. He then bagged the match ball with a 16-yard finish.

Willie West added his name on the scoresheet before Young hit his fourth from outside the box.

BRECHIN 5 LOSSIEMOUT­H 0

Brechin City moved up to second place in the table following their third 5-0 win on the trot.

Michael Paton set City on the victory trail after seven minutes when he rifled home a drive from the edge of the box.

The hosts moved into top gear in the second half with substitute Garry Woods making it 2-0 four minutes in. Lossie’s trialist goalkeeper brought off a string of fine saves, but he was helpless to stop City substitute David Cox scoring two goals in two minutes (84/85), with Max Kucheraivy­i firing home No. 5 just on time.

DEVERONVAL­E 10 FORT WILLIAM 0

With Fort able to muster just 11

players, Deveronval­e went ahead in the first minute through Max Stewart and their attacking trialist made it two after seven minutes.

Trialist then added a third in the 26th minute before Innes Mckay scored a quick fourth and Ross Aitken grabbed a fifth after 38 minutes. James Connelly added a sixth from the spot after 51 minutes with Michael Watson scoring two in three minutes to take the tally to eight.

Trialist completed his hat-trick on the hour, with Dane Ballard netting No. 10 after 67 minutes.

ROTHES 0 FORMARTINE 0

Rothes dropped from second to third place after being held to a scoreless draw by Formartine side who came into this game with something to prove after one-sided defeats at the hands of Brechin and Buckie.

The Speysiders bagged seven goals at Mosset Park in midweek, but they were kept at bay by a battling United who will feel they deserved the win.

Ian Mckenzie made some vital saves to prevent a defeat, with Dons loanee Tyler Mykyta and Scott Leslie both denied.
