The leaders in the Premier League had a free day after PENICUIK and Tranent’s MATCHES were postponed due to snow covered pitches.

The weather conditions also caused the abandonment of LINLITHGOW’S match at DUNBAR, while HILL OF BEATH were unlucky when their match against TYNECASTLE was abandoned due to a floodlight failure with the Haws leading 2-0.

There was no shortage of action at BLACKBURN UNITED, where the home side finished with nine men as they lost 4-2 to NEWTONGRANGE STAR. Michael Browne gave Blackburn the lead from a penalty in the first minute, and Callum Heath doubled their advantage in 33 minutes. Liall Smith pulled one back in 39 minutes, then it all went horribly wrong for the hosts. Liam Mcintosh equalised from a penalty in 53 minutes, and, two minutes later, gave the visitors the lead. The hosts then had John Drummond and Daryl Meikle red-carded before Ethan Dougal sealed a 4-2 win for Newtongrange.

MUSSELBURGH and SWIFTS drew 2-2 in an evenly-contested match. Connor Thomson gave Musselburgh the lead after four minutes, but the visitors levelled a minute later, then took the lead with 20 minutes remaining. But the home side replied three minutes later through a Thomson penalty.

Elsewhere, JEANFIELD hung on to beat BROXBURN 3-2, while LOTHIAN THISTLE ran out 4-1 winners over WHITEHILL. Two first-half goals were good enough to give DUNDONALD a 2-1 victory over CAMELON, with Mitch Taylor scoring a second-half penalty for the Mariners.

Conference A leaders HADDINGTON had to dig deep to finish 2-1 winners over DUNIPACE, despite finishing with 10 men. Connor Langton gave Dunipace an early lead, but the Hi Hi hit back through Alassin Jones three minutes later. They had Corey Robertson ordered off, but managed to pull out a winner from Guy Mcgarry.

In the King Cup, THORNTON HIBS were too hot for NEWBURGH in a Fife derby. Hibs ran out 5-1 winners thanks to a Joe Kinninmonth double and strikes from Jamie Mcneish, Ben Rolland and Kieran Dall.
