-

INVERURIE LOCOS 1 BUCKIE THISTLE 5

Buckie blizted hosts Inverurie Locos with a five-goal salvo.

Midway through the first half, the Jags took the lead through Max Berry from close range.

Six minutes later, Marcus Goodall added a second.

Locos were back in the game in 57 minutes through Ryan Broadhurst heading home a Jamie Michie free-kick.

The title-chasers regained their two-goal advantage through Macaskill with a shot from the edge of the box.

With eight minutes left, Sam Urquhart added a fourth, then Macaskill hit another to boost the Jags goal difference further.

FRASERBURGH 1 TURRIFF UNITED 1

League leaders Fraserburgh suffered a setback, dropping two points at home.

Former Turriff striker Gary Harris put them ahead after 14 minutes when he tapped home a squared pass from the left.

With the wind affecting the play, shots were being snatched at and there was to be no more first-half scoring.

The visitors equalised in 51 minutes when a brilliantly-curled free-kick from Rory Brown went in off the underside of the crossbar.

After that, it was all one-way traffic, but Turriff survived, Tim Findlay making a fantastic save in a frenetic goalmouth scramble in the final minute.

STRATHSPEY THISTLE 1 BRORA RANGERS 5

On a windy afternoon at Seafield Park, The Cattachs netted two first-half goals from corners.

The first saw Jordan Macrae turn home Gregor Macdonald’s inswinger in the third minute, and Dale Gillespie then swung one low into the near post and it seemed to go all the way through the crowd, kissing the back post on the way in.

After Strathspey went close a Jordan Wardrope freak own goal gave Brora the killer third.

Andy Macrae scored fine fourth, before Jake Thompson pulled one back from the spot.

Macdonald completed a nap hand in time-added after Gillespie fouled the goalkeeper.

HUNTLY 0 BRECHIN 3

Brechin bounced back from a midweek cup defeat in style. David Cox reacted well to a delivery from Jamie Bain to slot home the opener.

There was some deja vu as Bain was to be the provider again soon after when a long cross was headed down into the Huntly goal bycox.

In the 80th minute, Brechin completed the scoring with a goalmouth scramble despite Huntly attempts to keep it out, but former manager Michael Paton got the last touch to force the ball over the line.

FORMARTINE UNITED 5 LOSSIEMOUTH 2

A goal in the first minute from Formartine’s Scott Lisle set the home side on their way, but Lossie levelled in the 24th minute when Fergus Edwards headed home from a corner.

Jonny Smith scored two headers in the 30th and 39th minutes, and Graeme Roger added in the 42nd minute as United put the game to bed before half-time.

In the 53th minute, Dean Stewart grabbed one back for the visitors from a corner, but Lisle added his second late on, waltzing round the goalkeeper before finishing with ease.

FORT WILLIAM 1 CLACHNACUDDIN 2

Clachnacuddin claimed the Simon Shields Memorial Trophy as the two teams he played for met at Grant Street Park.

Combative central midfielder Martin Callum was on target to give the Lilywhites a first-half lead and they took that into the break.

Striker Yves Zama nabbed his fourth goal in five games for Fort William to level things up in the 65th minute, but the equilibrium only lasted seven minutes.

Connor Bunce was to prove to be the Lilywhites supersub as he grabbed the winner.

DEVERONVALE 1 FORRES MECHANICS 1

Few chances were created in the opening 20 minutes, but Vale broke the deadlock after twenty seven minutes when Michael Watson’s cross from the left was fired home by Dane Ballard from 14 yards.

The visitors struck back to level within eight minutes as Shaun Morrison found space at the back post to score from close range.

A low key second half saw Ballard miss the best opportunity for Vale when he could only find the side netting from four yards out, while Sean Mcintosh earned

a point for Vale with a fine diving safe from an 18 yard drive from

Morrison.

WICK ACAD 0 NAIRN 2

Nairn County closed to within eight points of Wick, with three games in hand over the Scorries, thanks to a goal in each half.

Veteran goalgrabber Connor Gethins was the first on the scoresheet in the 38th minute from close range, following in on his attempted lob.

The points were in the bag with 18 minutes to go, with someone at the other end of their County career, Cameron Lisle, doubling the lead on his debut having completed his switch to Station

Park yesterday afternoon.

ALLOA 2 COVE RANGERS 2

Cove had to be content with a share of the spoils at Recreation Park, coming from two down to level.

Alloa got off to a dream start in the sixth minute as Andy Graham connected with a Mouhamed Niang cross from close range.

The home side continued to press the Cove defence for a second goal, and it came in the 19th minute when Steven Boyd fired in from a Connor Sammon cross from the right.

The course of the game changed in the 67th minute when Alloa substitute Jon Roberston, who had only been on the field for five minutes, was sent off following a foul on Iain Vigurs.

Cove then scored two goals within five minutes. In the 82nd minute, Ola Adeyemo headed home from close range.

Five minutes later, Cove equalised when a cross into the box was not dealt with by the home defence, and Rory Mcallister hit the equaliser.

PETERHEAD 4 DUMBARTON 3

At a windy Balmoor, the game was delayed for 20 minutes after one of the linesman was injured in the warm-up.

With the wind behind them, Peterhead went on the attack straight away and opened the scoring after three minutes with Hamish Ritchie tucking away a neat finish from a Flynn Duffy pass. Five minutes later, Ritchie was the provider with a great corner and Russell Mclean headed home for 2-0.

Dumbarton were reduced to 10 men in the 37th minute when Paul Paton was sent off for his second booking.

Peterhead got their third soon after with a well-worked short corner that ended with Ritchie getting his second goal with a low left-foot shot,

Ross Maclean pulled one back after a defensive mix-up in the 64th minute and, 14 minutes later, the 10 men were back in the game with a second goal from Edghan Stokes.

However, in the 84th minute, Ross Maclean got his second yellow card after a clumsy challenge and Dumbarton were down to nine men.

The Blue Toon took advantage and Grant Savoury, with a lovely left-foot strike, made it 4-2 in the 87th minute.

The visitors pulled another goal back in the 92nd minute from Pignathello after another defensive lapse from Peterhead.

QUEEN’S PARK 0 MONTROSE 1

On 12 minutes, a corner from Michael Gardyne picked out Sean Dillon, but the defender’s header cleared the bar.

Two minutes later, Aidan Quinn rose to meet another set-piece from Gardyne, but the ball flashed wide.
