Ex-brora star Lisle nets Formartine winner

-

Formartine inflicted Brora’s first defeat of the league campaign to leapfrog the Cattachs and move into second place.

It was the visitors who took the lead after the early award of a penalty. Tony Dingwall was unable to net his third in a row, but, to his relief, Andy Macrae was on hand to convert the rebound.

Crucially, United equalised before the break as Mark Gallagher rose to nod them level.

The winner came in the 58th minute, with former Brora player Scott Lisle diverting the ball home.

Mcdonaldmadeit2-0just12 minutes later when he slotted the ball home from close range, finishing off a great three-man move.

City were pushing forward at every opportunity and it was no surprise when Fraser Macleod hit home No. 3 from the edge of the box on the half-hour.

City were reduced to 10 men in the 77th minute when Seth Patrick was shown a second yellow card, with Ryan Stuart following suit six minutes later for the visitors, also for a second yellow card.

Two goals in little over a minute were enough to give Banks O’ Dee victory at Spain Park.

The breakthrough arrived when Kane Winton set up Neil Gauld to slot home in the 44th minute.

A fine solo effort from Mark Gilmour ensured a swift change of team talk in both dressing rooms.

The Lilywhites pulled a goal back on the hour mark. Riley Mackenzie fed the ball into the path of Connor Bunce, who blasted home from 12 yards, but they were unable to find an equaliser.

FORRES 1 KEITH 2

The Can Cans came into this match as strong favourites, but it was the Maroons who were dancing back down the A96 with the points.

Forres looked on course for victory when Ben Barron gave them a first-half lead, but the game turned when supersub Przemyslaw “Chamack” Nawrocki levelled the game up six minutes into the second half, before grabbing the winner on the hour.

HUNTLY 1 DEVERONVALE 0

A lone goal within the first minute was enough for the home side to gain their first win of the season.

Gavin Elphinstone added another goal to his tally after scoring midweek with a quickfire goal in 58 seconds as link-up play between Andy Hunter and Lyall Booth allowed Elphinstone to stroke the ball home.

Both sides had a handful of opportunities to change the scoreline, but Huntly kept the back door shut to move out of the bottom two.

Goals from Steven Mackay, Greg Morrison, Shane Harkness clinched the victory before another from Mackay put the icing on the cake.

STRATHSPEY 1 WICK 2

It was a glorious sunny day in Grantown, but the league table will make gloomy reading for the home fans after this one.

After a goalless first half, it was the home team who got their noses in front with Liam Taylor placing an effort past Graeme Williamson.

It was game on, though, when Gordon Macnab levelled with 10 minutes to go.

The Scorries then snatched a dramatic winner a minute into time-added, Mark Macadie leaving the Jags deflated.
