BUCKIE THISTLE 2 BANKS O’ DEE 2

Despite finishing with 10 men, Banks O’ Dee came away from Buckie with a creditable point.

Buckie had the best of the opening stages, but it was the Aberdeen side who opened the scoring in 42 minutes after a quickly-taken free-kick.

Balint Demus lost out in a 50-50 challenge with Lachie Macleod, who rolled the ball into the net from 25 yards.

Buckie equalised in 63 minutes when a corner from the left was flicked on and Josh Peters nodded in from close range.

A minute later, Darryn Kelly powered a header into the corner to restore Dee’s lead, but a second equaliser came in 77 minutes when Jack Murray angled his header into the corner.

Ally Stark saw red late on, then Joe Mccabe struck the bar as the Jags almost took advantage.

BRORA 0 BRECHIN 3

Brechin bounced back from their midweek disappointment to record a significant win at Brora.

The visitors dropped their first points of the season at home to Huntly on Wednesday while Brora were firing 11 past Strathspeym but City were first to draw blood in this heavyweight clash with Fraser Mcleod’s long-range strike.

Despite hitting woodwork early on, Brora lacked a cutting edge and the Hedgemen added a second on 70 minutes through Marc Scott’s 20-yard effort.

In the final minute, Grady Mcgrath netted No. 3.

FORMARTINE 2 FORRES 0

Formartine United leapt back into the top three with a professional performance providing a two-goal victory over Forres Mechanics.

Jack Mciver had the hosts in front after just six minutes and, six minutes before the break, Johnny Crawford added a second to give Stuart Anderson’s team a cushion.

Despite Forres making changes in an effort to find a route back

into the game, the United defence remained in control and the clean sheet secured the three points.

FRASERBURGH 5 CLACHNACUDDIN 0

A rare Ross Aitken goal provided the title holders with a narrow lead going into half-time.

The former Deveronvale man showed the desire to get on the end of Scott Barbour’s low cross to poke it home from close range.

Talented youngster Logan Watt picked out the top corner to double the Broch’s lead.

Willie West collected two assits as the goals began to flow. Aitken headed home his second of the day, then Sean Butcher knocked home from another West delivery.

A slack pass back allowed Paul Campbell to waltz in No. 5.

HUNTLY 3 NAIRN COUNTY 1

New Nairn manager Steve Mackay suffered defeat for the first time.

The Wee County were in front in the 22nd minute when Euan Storrier was unable to claim a corner Connor Gethins slammed

home on the volley from six yards.

The game turned on it’s head with two goals in the space of four minutes. Ross Still levelled with a diving header, and was quickly followed by Andy Hunter scoring with a shot on the turn.

Huntly added a third in the 69th minute when James Connelly rose to squeeze a header into the bottom corner.

KEITH 6 STRATHSPEY 1

Having shipped 11 goals in midweek, Strathspey Thistle were always going to be fragile and Keith took full advantage to secure a simple three points.

Kieran Mooney got the opener with a fantastic right-footed curler into the far corner.

Two goals from close range in a short space of time from Ryan Robertson and Matthew Tough that killed this one as a contest with an hour still to go.

Mooney doubled his tally and, although Aidan Cruickshank pulled one back, Mooney completed his hat trick.

Testimonial man Stewart Hutcheon scored No. 6 from the penalty spot.

TURRIFF UNITED 1 LOSSIEMOUTH 2

Top scorer Andy Reid will return to Aberdeen on a full-time basis in January and his absence from the starting line-up was apparent in a goalless first half.

Logan Ross saved twice to deny Jack Mckenzie, with the home side on top.

Their profligacy was punished early in the second half when Liam Archibald drilled home for Lossie from point-blank range.

Dylan Stuart was then sent off for a foul on Adam Mcleod and the Buckie loanee soon took advantage of the extra space to volley in a second for the Coasters.

Mckenzie netted a late consolation for Turriff.

WICK ACADEMY 1 INVERURIE L0C0S 2

Garry Wood pounced to put the Locos in front in the 21st minute with the home defence static.

It wasn’t long before Jay Halliday’s left-footed strike doubled their advantage.

Locos’ Nathan Meres conceded a penalty and veteran Richard Macadie duly fired home from the spot halfway through the second period.

However, Richard Hasting’s side withstood a nervy finale to earn the victory.

DEVERONVALE 0 ROTHES 1

Matheus Machado shot wide early on before the deadlock was broken 10 minutes from the break when Machado set up Aidan Wilson to score from 18 yards.

Vale controlled the game in the second period and went close on several occasions, with Ian Mackenzie saving from Harry Noble twice, while Innes Mckay saw a header hit the post.

Dane Ballard also missed a great opportunity, but Rothes held on for the win.

ALLOA ATHLETIC 0 DUNFERMLINE 3

Dunfermline comfortably eased through this away encounter, and now sit two points behind FC Edinburgh with a game in hand.

Dunfermline were the strongest side from the start, and midway through the first half they got the opener when Aaron Comrie connected with a Joe Chalmers cross and fired an unstoppable shot past Hogarth in the Wasp’s goal from the centre of the box.

Dunfermline extended their lead minutes into added time of the first half when Todd connected with a Rhys Breen cross and fired in a right-foot shot to the top right corner.

The visitors made it three late in the second half when substitute Craig Wighton, with his first touch of the ball, fired a left-foot shot home past Hogarth in the Wasps goal,

The home side fought back and threw themselves into the match, and Kieran Offord came close to pulling a goal back when his well-struck shot from the edge of the box went past the upright.

AIRDRIEONIANS 3 QUEEN OF THE SOUTH 3

The home defence were slow to react as Josh Todd gathered the ball on three minutes and ran towards the Airdrie goal before curling a 20-yard well-placed shot into the net.

Airdrie reacted instantly after Lewis Jamieson sent Calum Gallagher in behind the visitors’ defence and Gallagher powered a terrific effort beyond goalkeeper Scott Fox.

With 15 minutes played, a short corner on the left saw Justin Devenny cross the ball for skipper Callum Fordyce to head the ball in at the near post to put The Diamonds in front. Against the run of play, Queens’ Harry Cochrane picked up the ball 30 yards out and volleyed the ball past home keeper Dean Lyness into the net off the post.

In 61 minutes, Craig Watson fired the ball across goal and Airdrie’s Callum Smith netted from close range. Two minutes later, Gavin Riley headed the ball past Lyness to level matters again.

The hosts’ Cammy Ballantyne picked up two bookings, his second in 78 minutes, and was sent off.

FC EDINBURGH 2 KELTY HEARTS 0

League leaders FCE looked dangerous early on, with Liam Fontaine sending a long-range effort narrowly over Darren Jamieson’s crossbar.

Their early pressure was rewarded
