-

STIRLING ALBION were knocked off top spot as their six-game winning run ended with a 1-1 draw at ALBION ROVERS.

Brian Reid’s men took the lead in 19 minutes when Charlie Reilly took advantage of a Ross Mcgeachie error to fire a low shot past Blair Currie. The Binos were reduced to 10 men in 67 minutes when Robert Thomson saw red for a late challenge on Devan Mccoll. However, Stirling equalised with five minutes left as Dale Carrick diverted the ball in off the bar to score for the seventh league game in a row.

Russell Dingwall hit a first-half hat-trick for ELGIN CITY, with two of them coming from penalties. They were coasting 3-0 at the interval, but BONNYRIGG ROSE fought back and almost got a point. They pulled one back on 48 minutes when Conor Doan’s shot hit the top corner of the net, then, nine minutes from time, George Hunter shot home from 12 yards, but Elgin held out for the points.

ANNAN ATHLETIC leapfrogged their basement opponents FORFAR ATHLETIC to move off the foot of the table with a 4-1 victory at Station Park. Robert Mccartney and Tommy Goss (2, 1 pen) comfortably had Annan 3-0 up before Forfar scored 20 minutes from time, substitute Matty Aitken curling a beauty into the top corner from over 30 yards. However, Aidan Smith restored Annan’s three-goal gap with a tap-in after a deflection.

Goals at the end of each half put DUMBARTON back at the top of League 2 on their own with a vital win over STRANRAER. Gregor Buchanan stabbed Sons in front on half-time, then they sealed the points in time-added when Morton loanee Michael Garrity rounded the keeper to net.

A superb long-range strike by Jack Healy in time-added gave EAST FIFE a point at STENHOUSEMUIR. The hosts led on 20 minutes through Ross Philp, with the Fifers levelling on 73 minutes through an Alan Trouten penalty, with Dan Higgins being red-carded for fouling. Michael Miller restored Stenny’s lead a minute later with a header from a Matty Yates corner, but Healy equalised late on.
