Harry’s Styles better: Star was hit by flu, but his film career is looking healthy

-

Have you ever felt it’s Harry Styles’ world and we’re just in orbit around it? OK, just me then. But that’s certainly how I’ve felt in the last week.

Harry has been performing at The Forum here in Los Angeles and I was lucky enough to catch one of his 15 (yes, 15) dates before he sadly had to call a halt earlier in the week to the concerts as he’s got the flu. there was me thinking he really was superhuman!

“Towards the end of the show on Wednesday I started feeling ill and I’ve been in bed with the flu ever since. I’ve been doing everything

I can to be able to sing tonight, but I’m leaving the doctor now and I’m devastated that it’s just not possible,” he said.

“Until very recently I haven’t had to postpone a show due to illness in the 12 years I’ve been touring. I’m so sorry to do it, and if there was any way I could do the show I would.

“I’m sorry this news is coming so close to show time, but it was my sincerest hope to be able to play for you tonight.

“I know several of you have planned trips to LA to see the show, and it means the absolute world to me.”

Harry’s concert was sensational. He’s come a long way from when I saw him and the rest of the One Direction lads play the Pasadena Rose Bowl out here back in 2014.

He really knows how to play to the audience and he had them – and me – in the palm of his hand from the first bar to the last.

There was also a big movie night for young Mr Styles as he’s following up his big screen success with Dunkirk and Don’t Worry Darling, with another starring role in My Policeman.

It’s a story set in 1950’s UK with Harry as Tom, a policeman who begins a same-sex affair with a museum curator in spite of homosexuality being illegal. He stars along side Emma Corrin and David Dawson.

You can watch it on Prime Video but I caught up with Harry at the premiere as he addressed a very enthusiastic audience.

“I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone that was involved in the making of this film,” he beamed. “i had such a wonderful experience making it and being a part of it, it’s something I’m really proud to be a part of.

“This film is about love and wasted time and how hard it can be to be in love and we hope you enjoy the film as much as we enjoyed making it.”

I also did a lot of reading at Harry’s concert! Not that I was bored, but the signs fans hold for Harry to read are very entertaining.

He loves to communicate with the fans in the audience.

“Our dad isn’t talking to us because of you,” read one.

“Why is everything so sad tonight?” Styles shouted.the fans said it was because they spent all their savings on tickets.

“I have two things to say,” he began. “first of all, thank you very much. Secondly, very irresponsible spending!”

What did I say about Harry’s world???
