-

CALEDONIAN BRAVES were 4-1 winners over RUTHERGLEN GLENCAIRN in the South Challenge Cup with Ross Mcneil scoring for them after five minutes and Marc Kelly doubling the score with a 21st-minute penalty. Four minutes before the turn, Rutherglen pulled one back but, in the 56th minute, Kelly scored from the penalty spot to make it 3-1 after a handball in the box which saw Sean Mcguire red-carded. Kelly completed his hat-trick in the 76th minute when slid in to finish off a loose ball.

A Bob Mchugh penalty was enough to see EAST KILBRIDE into the fourth round against a fighting ABBEY VALE side from the South League.

Blair Henderson hit a hat-trick as SPARTANS romped to a 9-0 win over GLASGOW UNIVERSITY to move through to the fourth round. Sam Jones, Jamie Dishington, Jamie Penker, Cammy Russell and Sean Brown (2) were also on the mark.

BO’NESS UNITED were too strong for East side PENICUIK ATHLETIC and they won 5-2. Keir Macaulay, in eight minutes, and Kyle Johnstone, on 28, hit early goals for United but the visitors pulled one back five minutes before the turn through Aaron Somerville.

A Zander Miller double put Bo’ness 4-1 up only for Somerville to pull another back but Tom Grant fired home a penalty in the 74th minute to make it 5-2.

LINLITHGOW ROSE knocked out Lowland side CIVIL SERVICE STROLLERS 3-1 and they had manof-the-match Mark Stowe to thank with a great hat-trick after Strollers took an early lead through Marc Laird.

BROXBURN ATHLETIC cracked in four second half goals for a 4-1 win over COLDSTREAM who took the lead in the 22nd minute thanks to Ejay Gay. But goals from Liam Gray, Josh Jeffries (2) and Gary Brass saw Athletic progress,

TRANENT JUNIORS beat BLACKBURN UNITED 3-2. Martin Maughan, Nicholas Reid and Rory Currie counted for Tranent with Laurie Devine and Callum Heath United’s scorers
