Buckie back on top but Lossie made it hard

-

Buckie eased to the top of the league on goal difference after this close-run victory over Lossiemouth

Lossie had the ball in the net in the 11th minute, but it was ruled out for a dubious offside.

After a goalless 45 minutes, Buckie struck early in the second period when a long hopeful ball upfield was collected by Josh Peters, who slammed a 20-yard effort into the top corner.

The Coasters struck back with Ryan Stuart sneaking in from the right to dink the ball past Balint Demus.

Scott Adams put Buckie back to the top of the table when he slammed a low cross form the right high into the net from eight yards to clinch victory.

BRORA RANGERS 4 CLACHNACUDDIN 2

Brora took the lead in the ninth minute when defender Colin Williamson forced the ball home from close range.

Paul Brindle pulled Clach level in the 19th minute, but Andy Macrae fired the Cattachs back in front from the edge of the box.

Brindle then levelled for a second time on the stroke of half time.

The game turned the way of the home side in the last quarter-ofan-hour. Jordan Macrae put them ahead for a third time in the game from the penalty spot, then The Lilywhites danger man Brindle saw red in every sense.

Jordan Macrae completed the scoring late on.

DEVERONVALE 7 STRATHSPEY THISTLE 0

Deveronvale hit Strathspey for seven as they hit the goal trail.

Matt Jamieson hit the opener with a fine curling shot after just 12 minutes, before Horace Ormsby doubled the advantage on 24 minutes, shooting home from the edge of the box.

Vale made it three a minute from the break as Jamieson again found the target after rounding the keeper to score.

Two minutes after the restart, Dane Ballard made it four with a shot from the edge of the box before Jamieson completed his hat-trick with another curling effort from the corner of the box.

Ormsby grabbed his second with a close-range tap-in on the hour, before substitute Antonio Jam saved the best to last with a superb 25-yard shot into the top corner.

HUNTLY 0 BANKS O’ DEE 2

Banks O’ Dee moved off the bottom of the table with a win at Huntly.

Passing play into the home half found Lewis Crosbie spare to thread the ball through to Kane Winton to slot in from inside the box in the 31st minute.

Nine minutes into the second half and Banks O’ Dee added a second when link-up play down the right from Alasdair Stark and Crosbie resulted in the latter crossing for the unmarked Lachie Macleod to head home.

KEITH 2 TURRIFF UNITED 1

The seventh minute proved a lucky one for the Maroons as a ball in from the right resulted in Tom Andrews knocking the ball beyond David Dey to give Keith the lead.

The homesters doubled their advantage in the 20th minute through Liam Duncan.

Winger Reece Mckeown nipped in to provide Turriff with a lifeline a minute before half-time. There was to be no second-half redemption for Turra as Keith held on, despite the pressure on their defence, to lift themselves up to 11th in the table.

FORRES MECHANICS 3 NAIRN COUNTY 4

Jack Grant gave Forres a seventhminute lead from an inswinging corner.

Ben Barron ran onto a headed knockdown to place a second goal into the Nairn net with 19 minutes gone.

The goal that breathed life back into the game arrived seven minutes into the second half. Sam Gordon hung out at the edge of the box for a corner and slammed a volley low into the bottom corner.

Another set-piece saw Kane Davies restore Forres’ two-goal lead just after the hour.

A Connor Gethins penalty then made it 3-2, and the veteran then levelled from a Liam Shewan cutback before he completed his hat-trick to win the game two minutes from time.

INVERURIE LOCOS 1 ROTHES 1

Greg Morrison struck the frame of the Locos goal with a fine shot on the turn that had Andy Reid beaten, but bounced off the top of the crossbar.

The Speysiders went in front in 52 minutes, Andy Reid saving the header from Bruce Milne from a right-wing corner, but fellowdefender Ryan Mcritchie followed up to net the rebound.

Eleven minutes later, Mitchell was allowed space to run on to a ball and curl it high into the net for the equaliser.

Scorer Mcritchie picked up two yellows in quick succession, which saw him sent off.

Late on, Robert Ward and Fergus Alberts both hit the bar as Locos looked to punish that indiscipline.
