A duo with Scottish connection­s teamed up to keep Norwich City’s push for promotion on track in the English Championsh­ip yesterday.

Former Celtic striker, Teemu Pukki, scored his seventh league goal of the season after being set up by Scotland midfielder, Kenny Mclean, to move the Canaries up to fourth following a 1-0 victory at Swansea.

A first-half goal from captain Billy Sharp gave Sheffield United a narrow 1-0 win against Huddersfie­ld to keep the pressure on leaders, Burnley.

Sharp scored after 15 minutes, which put the Blades level on points with the Clarets while Huddersfie­ld remain on the foot of the table with just 19 points.

Ched Evans bagged a brace as Preston hammered Blackburn 4-1 to go fifth.

Ben Woodburn (17) set them on their way and Evans doubled their lead early in the second half before Blackburn replied through Bradley Dack in the 55th minute.

But Preston netted two goals in three minutes through an Evans header and Ben Whiteman’s deflected effort.
