So Jacqueline turned detective

- By Murray Scougall mscougall@sundaypost.com

JACQUELINE FRENCH’S partner was walking through Coatbridge last week when he spotted something sparkling on the pavement.

As he got closer, he realised it was a silver bracelet.

Someone must have lost it, so he picked it up and took it home to show Jacqueline.

She noticed there was a date in the middle of the link chain, so she guessed the jewellery had special meaning to its owner. How would she ever find its owner, though?

Then she noticed the words “Sweet Rosie” inscribed on the t-bar catch.

That must be the name of the jeweller, she thought.

Jacqueline did an internet search and found the Facebook site for Sweet Rosie.

She scanned through the pictures and found a picture of the chain.

Sure enough, it was a oneof-a-kind commission.

Jacqueline left a message on the site explaining that her partner would like to reunite it with the owner.

Sweet Rosie owner Roz Morrison, who made the bracelet for friend Christine Henderson, got in touch with Jacqueline straight away to thank her.

It turns out Christine, from Bellshill, had been in nearby Coatbridge for a keep-fit class and had removed her jewellery before the session started.

Christine reckons she must have pulled the bracelet out of her bag while looking for something else.

She hadn’t even realised it was missing until Roz told her.

But she’s delighted that Jaqueline turned online sleuth and reckons she’s a real gem!
