Here she plays the part of a loyal assistant hiding her true feelings as she goes along with her boss’ scheme to win the heart of his dream woman.

Adam Sandler also stars.

Ken Loach recently won his second Palme D’Or at Cannes for the hard-hitting I, Daniel Blake, but the veteran director is not averse to giving us an upbeat slice of life on occasion.

While doing a stint of community service for a vicious assault, Glasgow tough guy Robbie is taught the finer points of whisky tasting. But old habits die hard.

Second World War pilot Peter (David Niven) strikes up a flirtatiou­s relationsh­ip with radio operator June (Kim Hunter), in this classic fantasy romance.

After his plane is hit, Peter bails out without a parachute, only to wake on a beach.

But his survival is still in the balance as he must argue his case in celestial court.

New mum Katy’s life is wrecked when her husband Bob is killed after confrontin­g some noisy teenagers.

But when she gets to confront his killer she finds a terrified school kid who needs a mother rather than an accuser.

Above average madefor-television drama that’s based on a true story.

Edge-of-your-seat, Oscar-nominated courtroom thriller starring Glenn Close as a lawyer who reluctantl­y takes up the case of publisher Jeff Bridges, accused of murdering his wife for her money.

As the trial develops, she finds her ethical position compromise­d when she falls in love with him.

Sci-fi romance starring Jake Gyllenhaal as helicopter pilot Colter Stevens, who wakes on a train sitting opposite a woman who thinks his name is Sean.

Eight minutes later, both are killed in a bomb blast only for Colter to wake again in the exact same position – this time knowing he has eight minutes to save the day.

Cats & Dogs

For centuries now, and unbeknown to humans, an uneasy truce has existed between cats and dogs.

But that situation is under threat from Professor Brody (Jeff Goldblum), who is about to launch a drug that would instal canines indisputab­ly as man’s best friend. But not if the felines get to him first.
