DRUGS, ammunition and a gun have been seized by police following a dawn raid in Glasgow.

Officers swooped on Gartloch Road and Rigby Drive in the city’s east end, arresting two men and a woman.

Heroin and cannabis worth an estimated street value of £300,000 was recovered, along with a gun and several rounds of ammunition.

The raid comes as two men pled guilty to drug dealing after £625,000-worth of cannabis resin was found in Motherwell in a separate incident.

Detective Inspector Stuart Lipsett said the force “will not tolerate this type of reckless and criminal activity”.

He added: “Specialist officers work every day to gather intelligence and target individuals who engage in the supply of controlled drugs, and with the continued support from members of the public, we will put a stop to it.”

Glasgow’s raid saw two men, aged 30 and 36, arrested and detained in connection with alleged drugs and firearms offences, while a 26-year-old woman was also arrested.

Meanwhile, Adam Southall, 22, and Stephen Rouse, 53, both pled guilty following the separate incident in Motherwell.

Police said they had seized around 135 kilos of cannabis resin from the two men following a joint operation between Police Scotland and the National Crime Agency that lasted from 2015 to January this year.

Detective Inspector Graeme Naysmith, of the Organised Crime and Counter Terrorism Unit, said: “Targeting those involved in drugs remains a priority for Police Scotland.

“These people have no thought for the harm their drug peddling causes, all they care about is making money from their criminal activities. People can be assured, we will do everything in our power to rid our communities of drugs.”
