LEAGUE 2 ROUND-UP

BARRY ROCHE produced a stunning performance in goal for Morecambe as the Shrimps somehow earned a point in a 1-1 draw against newcomers Lincoln City at a packed Sincil Bank.

The veteran stopper superbly saved from Jordan Maguire-Drew and Nathan Arnold, before his side snatched a surprise second-half lead through Aaron Wildig after Aaron McGowan’s audacious 35-yarder smashed against the bar.

Rampant Lincoln threw everything at Morecambe, with Matt Rhead, Sean Raggett and Matt Green also denied by Roche, before Green grabbed a deserved leveller for the Imps after 70 minutes.

Kayden Jackson bagged a brace for Accrington, but it wasn’t enough as Stanley fell to a 3-2 loss at Yeovil.

Jackson got the opener in the 12th minute, but Olufela Olomola’s double, sandwiching Francois Zoko’s effort, put the Glovers 3-1 up.

Jackson recuced the deficit in the 53rd minute, but couldn’t find an equaliser.

Crewe dug deep to hold Newport to a 1-1 draw despite playing more than 70 minutes with 10 men after defender Perry Ng was sent off.

The Exiles went ahead after 13 minutes when Frank Nouble finished from close range after Ben Garratt saved from Joss Labadie and Shawn McCoulsky.

Crewe looked in trouble when Ng was dismissed four minutes later after picking up a second yellow card for a lunge on Ben White. But the Railwaymen shrugged off the setback to level a minute later with Chris Dagnall flicking George Cooper’s cross home.

Coventry are the only side to win both games after Mark McNulty and Jack Grimmer scored in a 2-0 win at Grimsby.
