Henderson: We’re not worrying about Coutinho saga

- By Adam Lanigan sport@sundaypost.com

EVERYONE in football can’t stop talking about a possible move to Barcelona for Philippe Coutinho.

But Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson insists the subject isn’t even on the radar in the Anfield dressing-room.

There was heavy criticism of the team’s defending following the 3-3 draw at Watford on the opening day a fortnight ago and all the chat surrounding the on-going Coutinho saga has suggested a negative atmosphere around the club.

However, Henderson and his teammates have been too busy getting on with the job in the Premier League and securing their place in the group stages of the Champions League.

And the skipper is certainly upbeat about how things have begun as they gear up to welcome Arsenal this afternoon.

“We haven’t spoken about it,” he said. “You expect things to happen when the transfer window is open.

“But, as players, you focus on what is important, and that’s playing football and doing your job.

“We’ve done that brilliantly over the last few weeks and we need to carry that on.

“Whatever players come in and out, you have to stick together as a team. That means playing well and winning your games and, hopefully, we can do the same again against Arsenal. We feel as though we’re in a good moment.
