PAUL COOK saw Wigan’s perfect start to the season ended by ex-club Portsmouth as the sides fought out a 1-1 draw at the DW Stadium.

Ivan Toney put the Latics ahead early on, before Wigan’s Chey Dunkley was sent off for lashing out at Brett Pitman. Conor Chaplin turned in a Kal Naismith cross to equalise.

Portsmouth full-back Gareth Evans was dismissed late on after being shown a second yellow card.

Oldham are still searching for their first point of the campaign after slipping to a 2-1 defeat at Blackpool.

The Latics have now lost four League games out of four after Newcastle loanee Sean Longstaff put Blackpool ahead after just six minutes and Kyle Vassell doubled their lead nine minutes later.

Aaron Amadi-Holloway pulled one back in the second half for Oldham, but it was too little too late. AFC Wimbledon picked up their first League win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Doncaster.

Kwesi Appiah gave Wimbledon a 58th-minute lead, and Andy Barcham added another two minutes later.

A Paddy Madden brace helped Scunthorpe to a 4-0 win over Plymouth.

Tom Hopper grabbed a late third for the Iron and Josh Morris rubbed further salt in the wounds in stoppage time.

Blackburn cruised to a 4-1 win against MK Dons.

Derrick Williams’ opener was cancelled out by Ed Upson, but a Charlie Mulgrew brace and Dominic Samuel’s late strike sealed the points for Rovers.

Patrick Bauer and Josh Magennis were on target as Charlton overcame Rotherham 2-0, while Rochdale and Bury played out a 0-0 draw.

Walsall held Bradford to a 1-1 draw.
