We asked our Email Jury if they’ll be watching the royal wedding on Saturday – and if the cost is worth it

-

It depends how much the amount taken from public funds is, but remember, the royal family do actually bring in a lot of money for the country from visiting tourists. Judi Martin,

Aberdeenshire

If I do have time, and control of the remote, I will watch. I know my mother, an ardent royalist, would have been eager to watch it and would be rather disappointed in me if I didn’t. Lorna

Smith, North Yorkshire

The amount spent on this is not great in the overall scheme of things, compared with vast amounts wasted by Government in reinventing the NHS and education wheels, and privatising valuable social services. David Collins,

Yorkshire

I have certainly got better things to do with my time than watching the wedding! I will watch it on the evening news. I wish the young couple a long and happy life together, but that’s as far as my interest goes. Margaret Gibb,

Fife

It is of no interest to me but a great diversion from today’s hard times. Let everyone enjoy themselves for at least a day. Tom Anderson, Sussex

I will not be watching this wedding. It’s not that I don’t like the royals – but there is so much money being spent on the wedding of a royal who is well down the succession to the throne when there are genuinely poor people in this country. The price of the wedding dress is really ridiculous.

James Brown, Whitburn

It’s a big day for millions of royal family followers all over the globe. But being a traditionalist, I think the father of the bride should be footing the bill. James

Strachan, Aberdeenshire
