Lawyer in city tribute
Human rights lawyer Helena Kennedy has told how her career was inspired by growing up in Glasgow tenements.
At the age of eight, she watched her mum help a victim of domestic violence before she went on to become a tireless women’s rights campaigner.
The Labour peer said: “When I look back, my parents have informed my way of seeing law.
“Certainly, I’m a child of the Glasgow tenements with strong class politics and I have never forgotten that.”
