After a woman went to great lengths to return a lost purse, we ask: what’s the best good deed you’ve seen or done?

I once dropped my purse in Aldi’s car park containing £200. A man came running back into the shop with it and I offered him £30 to get himself a drink or two. But he would not take it. Margaret Brown, Rutherglen

Someone gave me the gift of life. I had a liver transplant 13 years ago. I do not know who the donor was but I am eternally grateful. Hamilton Mclean, Harwood

I use a stick when out and am grateful to the drivers who stop to let me cross the road. Lorna Smith, North Yorkshire

I’m an OAP and I am often on the receiving end of a good deed, when strangers give up their seats for me and help me in other ways. Liz Kelly, Glasgow

I saved a family when the kitchen went on fire. I smothered the chip pan with a cushion and then got mum and the two children out. Lorraine Anderson, Edinburgh

I found that a colleague was going to spend Christmas in a bedsit. My wife and I invited him to our home. He had a great time. Bill Bell, Nottingham

I left my purse on the car roof at a Highland Games. A very kind person handed it in before I even missed it! Joan Fordyce, Forfar

I have received plenty of small good deeds. They are just as important as large good deeds and restore your faith in people. Gary Hopton, Fife

All my deeds were good in their own way, from looking after an elderly neighbour by cutting grass and getting newspapers, to running a neighbour to hospital. I just try to help when I can. James Walker, Glenrothes
