JUDY MURRAY

The Sunday Post (Newcastle) - - NEWS -

The countdown to Christmas is well and truly on but, thankfully, I don’t have to worry about a last-minute dash to the shops for presents.

I prefer to go out and do a show or a spa treatment with my friends instead of buying them a present. And a few years ago we started a family Secret Santa.

We found a website that organises Secret Santa for you so that no one knows who is buying for them... (but you do get to have a wish list). Last year, I asked for a boxset of The Sopranos and I was able to guess it was my dad who bought it for me just because of the dreadful wrapping.

The festive season starts so early now and has become so commercial, but this new tradition has put some of the magic back into Christmas for us so we’re sticking with it.
