Clubbers’ warning

-

Increasing numbers of young women are being shut out of clubs and pubs without their phone or purse to help them get home, a charity has warned.

Stuart Crawford, of the Safe Zone refuge in Glasgow, says many young drunk women who leave premises to smoke are often refused re-entry by bouncers claiming they are too drunk to let back in.

Stuart said: “An increasing number of young women are wandering about without any means of contacting relatives.”

Safe Zone volunteers help them contact relatives or friends, but Donald MacLeod, of Glasgow Licensing Forum, said: “Any club denying admission to vulnerable females deserves to be taken to task.”
